The main office building of Rotol Airscrews, a company set up by ROlls-Royce and BrisTOL Aeroplane Co. on a 50:50 basis in 1936-7 to build variable pitch propellers.
A third floor was later added to this two-storey building. Rotol was taken over by Dowty in 1960 then Dowty Rotol by TI Group who sold this bit of it to Messier c.1995 so it is now part of Safran but still builds landing gear for Airbus and other customers. '
