"Auto",a push and pull coach. Driver rode at this end when going this way and left the fireman on the footplate of the loco which was pushing. On the return, the driver rode on the engine which was now pulling. It meant that the engine did not have to be uncoupled or have to "run around". This must be an off peak time of the day and the engine has gone to do other duties. '
