Abney Hall and park - early Victorian country home of the Watts family, business magnates and civic worthies in Manchester, where the novelist Agatha Christie who was a relative by marriage of the Watts family used to stay. The house became the council offices for Cheadle & Gatley UDC in 1958, and after the area was absorbed into Stockport in 1974 was used mainly as offices.
