' General Steam Navigation Co's "Royal Eagle", built 1932 by Cammell Laird at Birkenhead and spent her peacetime career sailing from Tower Pier to Southend, Margate and Ramsgate. Laid up after 10/8/1950 and never sailed again, being sold in November 1953 for scrapping. If the date on this photo is correct, she had very recently been laid up. '
