Danygraig Engine Shed GWR Code DG, later in British Railways days 87C. Rhondda & Swansea Bay Railway prior to grouping in 1923. According to E Lyons "An Historical Survey of Great Western Engine Sheds 1947" there were 31 locomotives based here in 1947 some years after this photo was taken. I seem to remember seeing a Metrovick Co-Bo diesel locomotive in the sidings here sometime during the 1970's.

I'll look forward to seeing a higher resolution image of this but it seems to show the power station in the context of the city in a very clear and dramatic scene.
