The Morris works - originally Hotchkiss - later government offices. This wing was the Inland Revenue and burned down in either 1966 or 67 - people were dancing in the street! The other wing, that faces onto Gosford St, became the DHSS office until around 1989-90 when it was closed and later redeveloped as part of Coventry University.

There were two fires eighteen months apart, one in 1964 and one in 1966. The first fire struck the inland revenue section and the second fire an army surplus store.
