THIS PORTION OF THE 'MIDLAND ARCADE' HAS ALSO DISAPPEARED. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE LOCATION OF THE 'BIG TOP' POST OFFICE.

'MIDLAND ARCADE'....THIS TOO WAS DESTROYED BY BOMB DAMAGE, BUT THE LINE OF THIS ARCADE WAS MAINTAINED WITH THE 'BIG TOP' CONSTRUCTION, ALTHOUGH COMPLETELY ENCASED IN THE NEW BUILDINGS. IT CONNECTS HIGH ST WITH UNION PASSAGE (UP THE STEPS) AND NEW ST (VIA THE OTHER PORTION OF THE ARCADE).

THE LINE OF THIS ARCADE WAS ALSO KEPT AND IT TOO BECAME ENCASED IN THE 'BIG TOP' BUILDINGS,EMERGING ONTO NEW STREET.
