The Earls Court Exhibition Centre building under construction. Much evidence of the shuttering and steel reinforcement rods used in the construction of this ferro-concrete structure. A similar photograph taken today would show its demolition under way in preparation for the major redevelopment of the area.

This end of the Empress Hall appears to be a recent art deco addition to the original Victorian building and probably dates to the previous year when the venue had been reopened as an ice skating rink, the venue for ice spectaculars. The Empire Pool building (now the Wembley Arena) was similarly adapted at a much later date.
