Attended Culloden Street school 1961 until 1966. The main building was still in use but do not recall the buildings to the front and left as this formed the playground. Main road is East India Dock Road (front of the hospital) heading north you had Athol Street (behind the hospital), Blair Street, Culloden Street, Dee Street and out of the picture Ettrick Street. The area was developed in the 19th century by a builder by the name of Mackintosh. The street names went alphabetically from Athol to Zetland and were all Scottishin origin. The exception being Abbott Road named after his partner. |
