The bay platform here was used to shunt the Carnforth to Leeds / Bradford through carriages which would be added to the rear of the Morecambe - Leeds / Bradford trains.

Wennington Railway Station LMS. Was a junction for lines to Lancaster and Carnforth. in the other direction the line ran to Clapham Junction and Skipton. (Not the Clapham Junction, another one).
