Growing up in Essex during the 60's and 70's I dreamed of one day owning a house in a quintessentially English village, preferably by the sea. We're now in the process of buying a Grade 11 listed house in Upper Walmer, which remains largely unchanged for many decades. We moved to the north Kent coast six years ago, to Whitstable, but it doesn't quite have the charm of the Deal and Walmer coast, and the views on a clear day over to France are somewhat more appealing than those across to the industry beyond the Isle of Sheppey and the lights of Southend-On-Sea.
