This factory opened in 1926 (as did the Terry's factory - Bishopthorpe Road works).

It closed in 2007, and was demolished 2008-2009.

The North Riding Psychiatric Hospital was more recently known as Clifton Hospital. It closed in the 1990s, and the site has been redeveloped with housing and offices. Though the main hospital building was demolished, a few peripheral buildings remain, including the hospital's chapel.

The psychiatric hospital in the background was later known as Clifton Hospital. Since its closure, most of the site has been redeveloped as Clifton Park.

The sugar beet factory - quite new when this photo was taken - has closed in recent years, and the factory buildings have been demolished.
