The first location in the area to become gentrified, it started in the mid 1960s. People who had lived there for many years with low controlled rents were offered large sums of money to move out. I used to park my car there and walk to Kennington underground station. Could not do that now!

These five blocks of LCC flats, Trematon House, Penmayne House, etc, are still in Kennings Way London SE11

the church tower mentioned is possibly Kennington tube station
