Combecote. My Grandmother's abode and family home. An amazing late-Georgian House, with commanding views down stream to the sea, and laced in wonderful history

The other "station" in the UK which never received a train.

The first one is Hull Corporation Pier.

This was a formal Railway Station, being built by the railway company who built the line to Kingswear. They could not afford the considerable expense of erecting a bridge further up the river and took the easy way out by building to Kingswear. Tickets were sold to destinations around the UK and parcels handled as any station would; it also oversaw the running of the ferry to connect to the trains at Kingswear. Indeed, according to http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/d/dartmouth/index.shtml, because of the handling of passengers travelling to and from the Royal Naval Collage the Dartmouth stationmaster was paid more than his colleague at KIngswear!
