I think this is The Ditch that ran from Upper Rushall Street through to Ablewell Street and now forms part of the ring road around St. Matthews.

The Walsall Brotherhood building opened in November 1903. The accompanying picture shows the building in the 1960s and also the trowel that Sir frank James used to lay the foundation stone. The inscription reads:- Presented to Frank James J.P., D.L. at the laying of the stone of the Walsall Brotherhood Social Club. Tuesday July 21st 1903.

Would like to know where this (The Jolly Baccus Pub) was. I'm unable to pick out this pin from all the others shown on the photo. A relative of my Grandmothers used to run this pub... along time ago.

Any help much appreciated.

My Father, William Henry Jones was born in Hill St on 5th September 1925. The family then moved to Rear of 55 George Street and my grandparents Sarah and Frederick Jones stayed their until the early 1980s.

Five years later than one of the other photos in the group and already the building next to the Paul Pry pub has gone along with the Jolly Bacchus pub in New Street.
