Minehead Pier. Opened in 1901; built for George Luttrell of Dunster Castle, I think. Later owned by Campbells who operated the White Funnel fleet of paddle steamers. The company was compensated when the pier was demolished in 1940, during World War II. Apparently nearby gun batteries required a clear line of sight |
