A notable merchant vessel involved in three collisions in three weeks... 50,000 tonne Norwegian-flagged vehicle carrier built in 1987 as Nosac Sun by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Japan. Length 620 feet. On 14th December 2002, when owned by Wilhelmsen Lines, carrying 2,871 luxury cars from BMW, Saab, and Volvo, she collided with Kariba and sank. The wreck was guarded by two patrol vessels, two salvage tugs and three buoys, but the next night Dutch vessel Nicola collided with the wreck. Two extra patrol ships and six more buoys were added. On 1st January Turkish-registered fuel carrier Vicky struck the same wreck. The wreck was removed by October 2004. Source: [[MV Tricolor]]
