'Frankies Cafe' backed onto the park while the front was just off the beach. It was where the more well off people bought fish'n'chips to eat on the beach. Poorer families like mine just bought chips with plenty salt and vinegar and of course a bit sand blew on them as you sat getting burned. We never had sun cream in those 1950s days so we'd return home burnt.
