Location of a number (eight visible) of military Nissen huts. These may represent the accommodation buildings for the WW2 HAA Gun Battery at Roos. Historic England gives the following information-
'Site of a Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery in the Diver Fringe at Roos. It was armed with four 3.7-inch Mark IIc guns equipped with Predictor AA No.10 Mark 1, and Radar AA No.3 Mark V when it was deployed here on 13th February 1945. Manning details are unknown. It formed part of the Humber Section 65 Heavy Anti Aircraft Brigade deployment. Probably destoyed by coastal erosion.' |
