This position is recorded as being the site of a 2ndWW Z battery, although the field to the right has track marks which seem a more likely site. The Defence of Britain project records ' Site of Second World War U9P rocket projector battery Z10 at Stratford sub Castle. It was armed with 6 nine-barrelled projectors and GL radar in 1942, when it was manned by 131 Battery of the 13th Royal Artillery Regiment. ' |
