These are not the steps in the 1967 movie The Whisperers ,they are too steep and the massive stone retaining wall is missing on her left hand side. The steps are further down napier street . She walks from her house (that become the high point hotel ) behind the houses ,you can see her house behind her ,she then turns right down the steps with Allen street at the bottom of the steps leading to manchester street . The steps passed the end of Plum street down to Allen street . I used to play on the steps in the 70's and the waist ground when building were demolished and when Plum street houses were demolished to. The wall on her right is still there hidden over grown trees and to her left is now landscaped grassy slope. Unfortunately the correct steps are just off the right side of the aerial picture. I have attached a pic showing where the wrong steps are in red and the correct steps in blue.
