Trolleybus heading for West India Dock on route 677. This route commenced operating on 10th September 1939 and, running in a horsehoe formation through Hackney, Dalston and Islington, ran between West India dock and Smithfield. As a replacement for tram service 77, which had run to Aldersgate, it was itself replaced by bus route 277 early on in the conversion programme on 14th April 1959. '
