' What is now known as Woodhouse Lane East. Was originally going to link up with Woodhouse Lane/Eastway in Sale via a bridge over the canal (hence the name). The bridge never came off. The road was built in line with Woodhouse Lane in sale and would have been a major route through to Timperley. A huge pub/hotel was built on the road called The Sylvan. This was built to accommodate passing traffic; thus appearing oversized for what ended up a quiet a suburban side road! The pub has since gone and houses have been built on the site. '
