' Redcatch Road, which dates from about 1920 and was designated the B3122 later in the 1920s. It became one of the routes from the Wells Road westwards towards Lower Knowle, Windmill Hill and Bedminster. On the 1904 OS map of Knowle, Redcatch Lane is shown linking St.John's Lane in Lower Knowle to the Wells Road, with associated buildings at the House of Charity (1890), Warden's Lodge, Chapel (1902) and Industrial School. Today, the House of Charity is St.Saviour's House and St.Peter's Hospice occupies the remaining buildings. '
