Greens sponge mixture factory, Portland Road, Aldrington, Hove, on land which was once part of Aldrington Farm. Horace J Green, a grocer from Brighton, developed sponge cake mixtures which he sold in his own shop from 1907. His mixtures were so successful, he had opened this factory by 1913, which was still operating into the 1980s. '
