The old chalk-pit at the junction of Hangleton Road with the Old Shoreham Road, Aldrington, Hove. Marked on Yeakell and Gardner's map of 1783, it was still evident in the 1960s, when it belonged to the water board. Now Aldrington Place care home and sheltered housing. '
