' The LNWR line to Castor, Wansford, Nassington and Oundle, it was earmarked for closure by Dr Beeching, but a contract with the Oundle Public School kept it open until about 1971/2. The Development Corporation (DC) moved in to expand Peterborough and created the Nene Park - The LNWR line went straight through the park and the fledgling Peterborough Railway Society with Rev Richard Paten's 73050 Standard Class 5 Locomotive started running trains on the Nene Valley Railway in 1977 '
