Dunn Square Gardens in the town centre bounded by the river cart,Causeyside street and Gauze street. At the centre of the gardens is a statue of Queen Victoria to commemorate her Diamond Jubilee in 1897. The statue faces south as it was considered inappropriate for it to look north (as she would be looking the public conveniences in the face!!

Glen Cinema scene of the worst fire in the town. now replaced by shops

The Glen Cinema hasn't in fact been replaced by shops, it has merely been 'hidden' by them. The building which housed the Cinema still exists (Good Templars Hall) in Paisleys Dyers Wynd, and the shops which front onto Gauze St within the building are cosmetically altered to hide the former Cinema. This link will reveal the hidden Glen Cinema - http://www.scottishcinemas.org.uk/scotland/glen_paisley/
