Hello Lee

I am researching the life of my GGF who was a gamekeeper on the Mottisfont estate in 1911. I know that Bob Peach was a keeper later on so would love to know where his house was if you can help. I have a photo of a shooting party inc my GGF outside a house which is certainly similar to those in Hatt Lane.

Would love to share what I have

thanks Helen

This part of walled garden remained private following Mrs.Russell handing Mottisfont Abbey to the National Trust. She had Northend House built, and would spend evenings sitting in this part of the garden. After she died, her old gardener George Buckle and his wife would tend the garden and spend evenings sitting there. Since her death this area has been opened and is now part of the Rose Garden.

This area later built on when Mrs. Russell moved out of Mottisfont Abbey - now Northend House, private dwelling.
