Ex Midland Railway 4-4-0 passenger loco hauling what could be an Engineers van.

Yes this is a Midland Railway influenced design. Building of these locos was shared between the Crewe and Derby works during the then LMS regime post 1923 - It is a standard design sanctioned by the LMS and designated class 2P for light passenger duty. Several of these engines worked local services in the SW of Scotland during BR days in the fifties and up to the early sixties.
