The modern tram line (Metrolink) passes under Manchester Road using this old bridge, but instead of following the line of the old track turns towards the left to terminate more in line with the Market St/Knowsley St junction.

Houghton St

The new Metrolink tram line passes near this point, on the left is the tram terminus and a major bus station, where Market Street and Knowsley Street meet. The tram line then passes towards the bottom of the picture, passing under Manchester Road just past the Knowsley St/Manchester Road junction.
