This was the road access to Peterborough East Station for traffic heading into Peterborough. Avoiding the need to cut across oncoming traffic. Great forward planning from Peterborough City Council.And yes! - It is still there! Waiting to be reopened when we develop the South Bank area?

Peterborough's second power station built in the 1920's another even bigger power station was built to the west in the 40's after the war! The coal yard (over on the other side of the main railway line)this is now part of the Railworld Wildlife Haven. All power stations being demolished in the late 1970's and Rivergate Arcade and the ASDA Supermarket built!

Peterborough's First Power Station built approx 1898 - This building survived until late 1970's along with another powers station built to the west in the 1920's and another one further west built in the mid/late 40's. The whole lot (all 3) were demolished - To make way for Rivergate and ASDA

River Nene - Right downstream to the Dog & Doublet, Wisbech and the North Sea. Left upstream takes you to Ferry Meadows, Wansford, Yarwell and Oundle.

This is the original Great Northern Railway Viaduct - Built in the late 1840's when the line was taken to London - Civil Engineers Bamm Nuttall are at present repairing,renovating and restoring this unique structure to it's original colours. It was made a listed structure through the work of Rev Richard Paten,

LNWR Loco Depot - Built in 1885, fell into disuse in the 1930's eventually being demolished in May 1965!
