Thompson & Son Ltd, Walmer Brewery, Dover Road, Walmer, Founded 1821. Acquired by Charrington & Co. Ltd. 1951 with c.100 pubs and brewing ceased in 1953. The site was used for bottling, and maltings by Charringtons until closure in 1974. The brewery was demolished in 1978. The brewery offices that stood on the opposite side of the road to the Brewery were demolished in the 1960s, the site is now occupied by a cul-de-sac that has been named 'Thompson's Close'. |
