I'm sorry to say that I suspect that this is in fact the Northern Line and not the London Midland & Scottish. The train looks like tube stock. I shall endeavour to identify further locations as confirmation.

That's the line on the west side of the aerodrome, heading towards Edgware (beyond the left-hand side of the image).

Definitely the Northern line ! The southbound train is about to cross a bridge under which a branch line linking the Grahame-White aircraft factory by the Edgware road in Colindale and the Midland railway at Silkstream junction . This only ran for a very short time after WW1 and had been lifted by the time this photo was taken .

The London Aerodrome at Hendon was Aerofilms Ltd's home when they started business in 1919. Claude Grahame-White, who had provided £3000-worth of financial backing to start the company, had bought the land in Hendon and opened the aerodrome in early 1911. Much of the aerodrome and its buildings had been requisitioned during World War I, so at the time that Aerofilms Ltd commenced operations Grahame-White was tied up in compensation claims on the Government.
