I have to report a border incident as this photograph alleged to be in Scotland is actually of a subject on the River Goyt near Stockport in England. If we look at photo EPW023825 we find that the subject matter is similar. The bends in the river and the reservoirs and ponds are the same, The factory chimney is the same. The terrace of housing is the same.

This is clearly a confirmed identification as there is lots of evidence. Eureka.

Hi Class 31,

Great "spot", thanks so much. We'll update the catalogue and post the correct location data here in due course.

Dear Kyle,

Thanks for your help; we’ve reviewed your suggestion but we don’t think this is on the River Leven at Alexandria because there isn't a bend in the river like the one pictured at or around the co-ordinates you have given. It looks like it may be a water-powered factory of some kind; a mill perhaps? Do you have any other ideas where this might be?
