In the grounds of this pub were stables and a centuries-old Dovecot. One day I climbed inside and could see all the "pigeon Holes" lining the inside of the walls. The stables and dovecot were pulled down to build Sowhill Bus Station. |

Former gardens behind the manor house. Used to contain a summer house with ice cellar and raised garden beds. We used to play in there as children 1960 to 1965. |

In this view there appears to be a car squeezing through the North Bar. In fact double deck buses also traversed it. The opening was over 14 feet high but buses had to have a specially shaped roof to manage it. |
