St. John's church hall. This was used for events like the Amateur Dramatics Society and also, when I attended St.John's primary school, (1952-1959), as the school's dining hall. There was a small basement that was used by St.John's boy scouts.

The Empress Ballroom, opened 1916. Later to become the famous Wigan Casino, home of "Northern Soul." Demolished 1984.
