My dentist in the 70's. It was a grand old house.

Old footbridge leading from Sheepcote Farm across Met Railway to Kenton Road. An old abutment can still be seen on the south side of the railway. I suspect that the footbridge was intended for more than just pedestrian use. It was quite substantial and broader than would be needed for that sole purpose. Perhaps it was also used for the movement of cattle and stock when Sheepcote Farm was still an active concern. The bridge was probably removed when the Met line was quadrupled and widened, the need for its replacement no longer being required.

Site of Northwick Park Station (opened in 1923 as Northwick Park and Kenton Station). The track level building had to be entirely rebuilt (in the same style) within a very few years when the Met track arrangements were altered. The station is sited where existed already a footway running beneath the railway honouring an ancient footpath connecting Sheepcote Farm with Woodcock Hill Farm.

Footbridge over LNWR/LMS Railway, now connecting Northwick Avenue with The Ridgeway but at that time carrying a footpath connecting Sheepcote Farm with Woodcock Hill Farm.

Sheepcote Farm (now site of Northwick Park Hospital). By the time of the photograph, it had long ceased to be a working farm but was now part of the Hill Golf Club (soon to be renamed the Northwick Park Golf Club) complex. Harrow School Trust had acquired the surrounding land in 1905 to discourage development on land adjoining their playing fields.

Northwick Avenue would soon be built here as part of the Churchill Estate. It was planned some years before, but development was held up by WW1.

Very pronounced zigzag in the original line of Tyburn Lane (Kenton Road) as it approaches the Kenton LMS overbridge. At this time, the road was little more than a country lane. The road was soon to be straightened when the surrounding land was developed.

I believe this was originally the Provincial Bank building. The provincial amalgamated with the National Bank and became the National Provincial, which was in turn taken over by the Westminster Bank, creating the Natwest Bank, which I believe still trades from this listed building.

Do you mean the ex-GCR line that ran parallel to the Met from Marylebone to the Midlands? (Pin position not clear)

It looks like you may have your railways mixed up. This one is the LMS. The one you have marked LM&S is the Metropolitan with the GCR (later LNER) running alongside.

What is now the Northwick Park open space was once land forming Sheepcote Farm. This, in turn, was utilised for the Northwick Park golf course up until about the start of WW2. The open space was considerably more extensive than now. Much was lost in the 1960s with the development of Northwick Park Hospital and the Harrow Technical College/University of Westminster.
