There is a long railway viaduct here. I'm sure someone will be able to locate these photographs now we have this significant feature. I have tried to fit the location to the Ouse Valley Viaduct and the Welwyn Viaduct at Digswell to no avail.

I'm afraid that it's not Shawford and thank you for the suggestion. I've had another look and I now think I have the answer.

Now, any clues for the two Railcar images. Railcar No 22 is still at Didcot, but No 27...? Any thoughts as to which (branch) lines these railcars were mostly used on?

Just for the record I can confirm that yesterday evening at about 9pm I was able to identify the two images of GWR diesel railcar number 27 EAW052879 and EAW052880 taken on 16th October 1953 as near Boxford, West Berkshire on the Lambourn Valley branch line. A successful day!
