Dewsnap House and Farm. Known as Hegginbottom's Farm. The farm land was bought by Daniel Adamsons and the farm was closed about 1953. The farm worker's cottages were demolished and the old farm house was used by social services in which they placed a foster mother and family.
Dewsnap House was a fine Georgian Style Hall standing in its own well appointed gardens but it has since been demolished for new housing. The main garden gate and front wall can still be seen on Dewsnap Lane just east of Ford Street. |

Station approach which the local children rode down on their hand made bogies which they had made out of old timber and pram wheels.
This approach was the only one for miles around which enabled the Post Office vans to deliver and collect mail bags directly from the trains as they arrived at the station. As children we would help load the station mail truck with the mail bags whist the train was standing in the station.
