' These art deco style offices (known as the White Block) were built for Rotol Airscrews Ltd. in 1937. The architect was W.G. Phillips P.A.S.I. of Victoria Street Westminster, London. (he was also responsible for the factory building, total cost was £97,000). The steelwork was by Messers. Gardiner of Bristol. Higgs and Hill of London carried out site preparation and other building works. The offices were originally designed with three storeys, of which two storeys and the central tower were constructed in 1937. The third storey was added to the original design in 1951. '
