' This is ground on which now stands Craven Park, the home of Barrow Raiders rugby league team. The stadium was built in the early thirties, so this photo is about ten years older. But the shape and size of whatever occupies this area in the photo, is identical the the ground today. I notice to the right of the ground is what appears to be the derelict remains of a church. This is now the west stand of the rugby ground. I dont know enough of the history to comment on this building. To the north of the ground in the photo there appears to be a number of open reservoirs. This area is occupied by houses these days. '
