This area of Land to the East of the Bowes Rail Line is a former Quarry? In this photo this area of land has returned back to field. But on Ordinance Survey Maps from 1916-1938 this land is shown as a Quarry! Before 1916, and after 1938 it is just field. The land was built upon in the 1960's by William Leech Builders to form the Ettrick Road Estate. '
